Clinica Vistahermosa

The Vistahermosa Clinic of Alicante signed an agreement with the Center of Operations Research (CIO) to develop of the R&D Project “Intracytoplasmatic sperm injection simulator”, where researchers sought to give a solution to the need to create a virtual environment for training embryologists, that would reduce training costs, the use of human biological material and instrumental breakdowns in their laboratories.

As a result of this project, a virtual simulator that allows an adequate training of embryologists reproducing the work environment of an embryology laboratory using a console of controllers and a computer application has been created. Embryologists can now improve their own technique of microinjection using this virtual system without occupying a micromanipulator in the laboratory and without the use of biological material.

To protect the technology, the Miguel Hernandez University has filed a patent application before the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office and has also requested an international extension via PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty).
